We currently have an opening for a Software Developer.  
 
Job Summary: This role will contribute to the creation and maintenance of software applications and innovative pipeline. The tools developed are used for asset management, production management, state-of-the-art visual effects, animation, and stereo conversion facility, including multiple international facilities.
 
Responsibilities:
  • Design, code, and support applications, tools and processes, which extend and enhance an innovative pipeline including asset management, production management, and other tools.
  • Collaborate with Designers, Developers, and TAs to optimize workflow and tool integration.
  • Support production and artist concerns including debugging, troubleshooting and managing fixes.
  • Participate in a positive and productive work environment and contribute to collaborative efforts across multiple facilities.
 
Qualifications:
 
 Must haves:
  • C++ and Python are musts.
  • Good understanding of software development best practices is a must.
  • Good troubleshooting and debugging skills.
  • Ability to work with a team to deliver high quality software in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
  • B Sc. Degree in Computer Science, Engineering or equivalent
  • 3 years of professional experience in software development

Nice to haves:
  • Experience with GUI framework especially Qt.
  • Experience with Django a huge plus.
  • Relational database design concepts, and experience dealing with large databases an asset.
  • Experience with PostgreSQL or any other SQL language a plus.
  • Experience with Nuke or Maya a plus.
  • Other tools/technologies: Vagrant, Docker, BDR, Jenkins, NginX
  • 5+ years of professional experience in software development

About this position:
As part of our Final QC Department, the QC Artist is responsible for reviewing and noting all the final versions of material to be delivered after stereo conversion. Working within a team, the QC Artist is responsible for technical Quality Control review work; articulating the issues with the shot per the project specifications; as well as maintaining the standard level of quality expected of our studio.  Must be able to complete the work assigned in a timely manner, meeting strict deadlines. 
 
Responsibilities: 
  • Reviewing complex and dynamic paint clean-up - including character, dust, dirt, wire, seam and rig removal
  • Reviewing matte extractions - including rotoscoping, keying, tracking or a combination of methods
  • Keen eye to find technical issues
  • Strong communication skills, written and oral, to communicate actionable directions to ensure the technical issues will be understood by the artist
  • Ability to work tight deadlines and hours required for production
  • Taking direction/critiques, interpreting notes and learning/applying new skills are key parts of everyday life in our studio
 
Qualifications:
  • Strong attention to detail
  • A strong understanding of 3-dimensional space
  • Excellent ability to write articulately in a clear descriptive manner
  • Self-motivated with excellent time management skills
  • Previous professional experience in stereoscopy and/or compositing is a plus
  • Accredited post-secondary degree or related coursework ideal
