About this position:
As part of our Finaling Department, the Paint/Composite Artist is responsible for delivering the final shots after stereo conversion. Working with a team, including a lead artist and supervisors, the Paint/Compositing Artist is responsible for compositing and paint tasks including:
 
  • Clean plate creation, clean-up work, and set extensions in stereo
  • Complex and dynamic paint clean-up - including character, dust, dirt, wire, seam and rig removal
  • Tracking (2D & 3D) and matchmoving
  • Integrating CG elements into stereo shots
  • Color correction and grain matching
  • Performing matte extractions - including rotoscoping, keying, tracking or a combination of methods
  • Ability to work tight deadlines and hours required for production
  • Taking direction/critiques, interpreting notes and learning/applying new skills are key parts of everyday life in our studio
Requirements & Preferences:
  • Compositing experience/knowledge and reel demonstrating skill
  • A strong understanding of 3-dimensional space
  • Knowledge and Experience with software packages such as Nuke (required), Photoshop, Mocha, Silhouette and After Effects a plus

Line Producer

Deluxe Animation Studios is seeking an experienced Line Producer for an animated project.  The Line Producer will manage the entire production and ensure its completion, on schedule, on budget, with an international team of artists.
 
Role Responsibilities:
  • Collaborate with Client, Director, and department supervisors in the management of all phases of the production.
  • Oversee the overall management of the departments, through scheduling, production planning, and troubleshooting.
  • Work with Director and supervisors to find creative solutions for production problems that arise.

Overview:
As a company focused on stereoscopic conversion, the 3D Depth Artist is at the center of it all. Working with a team, including a lead artist and supervisors, the Depth Artist must creatively interpret and apply stereo concepts. We’re looking for individuals with a good “stereo eye,” a strong understanding of 3-dimensional space (be it from previous stereo experience or from an artistic background), a working knowledge of Nuke, and a healthy dose of team spirit. Taking direction/critiques, interpreting notes and learning/applying new skills are key parts of everyday life in our studio.
 
Essential Functions:
  • Consistently work on shots assigned utilizing depth maps in Nuke to create stereo.
  • Break down a shot creatively and technically including volume, specs and animation.
  • Remain up to speed on the pipeline and the latest tools.
  • Consistently adhere to proper protocol and procedures.
  • Maintain a strong working knowledge Nuke and the pipeline of the studio.
  • Troubleshoot issues in shots.
 
Qualifications:

Pipeline Supervisor

The role of the Pipeline Supervisor is to oversee and work with a team of software developers and technical directors that focus on the research, design, implementation, and support of pipeline technology and tools used to create an animated film, in order to enable its completion, on schedule, with an international team of artists.
 
Role Responsibilities:
  • Collaborate with the Director, Producer, CG Supervisor, and key creative team to develop, build, and maintain leading–edge plug-ins, tools, shaders, scripts, asset managers, and root versioning systems in order to fully satisfy the needs of the production.
  • Collaborate with all department supervisors to ensure they are equipped with the tools they need to meet performance and output requirements.
  • Must be able to work with and receive feedback from artists.
  • Oversee creation and implementation of pipeline workflow and tools and support their implementation throughout the production.

  • Supervise a team of Shot Technical Directors as they support the film’s production.

Job Qualifications:
  • Bachelor degree in Computer Science or equivalent professional work experience.
  • 3+ years of Pipeline Developer experience. Animation experience is a plus.
  • Extensive knowledge of Python, C and C++. Other coding languages are a plus.
  • Solid structural coding skills.
  • Experience in developing and implementing tools and processes in a fast-paced production environment.
  • Production experience with revision control systems.
  • Strong knowledge of project and asset management systems.

-    Aid in the creation of the surfacing and hair/fur pipeline workflow and support their use throughout the production.

  • Prepare internal reviews and take notes
  • In conjunction with Stereographer and editorial, prepare external Client review timelines
  • Attend Client reviews and take notes
  • receive editorial assets from client, and internally distribute this content for your assigned project
  • Work with Stereographer or Supervisor after Client review to confirm and clarify notes, and prepare review results for publishing
  • Ensure internal shot tracking database is up-to-date
  • Maintain any client-specific database needs
  • Regular reporting on progress to Production Supervisor and Producer as needed
  • Transfer assets across Stereo D facilities to ensure reviews are properly created, and 3D conforms are up to date
  • Communicate with department teams, and answer any shot-specific questions that may arise
  • Prepare delivery packages of stereo finals to client/DI facility

About this position:

The Production Coordinator is responsible for the assignment and tracking of tasks for assigned area of responsibility. Facilitates the movement of shots between teams, coordinates daily reviews, and communicates status updates to ensure the delivery of shots on schedule. Provides administrative support to the production management team and supervisors. 

Responsibilities include:

• Under the guidance of the Production Supervisor, tracks progress of tasks for assigned artists or sequences in the production tracking system.
• Maintains production tracking system with revisions, omits, and shot length changes; notifies the affected crew as needed.
• Partners with other production personnel to ensure shots are scheduled and delivered in a timely manner.
• Follows up with Artist Leads on a daily basis to ensure task deliveries remain on schedule; communicates any schedule changes to appropriate Artist Leads, Supervisors and Production team as needed.
• Coordinates all client deliveries (outgoing and incoming), both physical deliveries and digital deliveries, with I/O Coordinator and maintains log of all deliveries.
• Responsible for multiple dailies sessions each day, as well as client reviews.
• Taking clear and accurate notes in all dailies and review sessions, and disseminating notes to all necessary parties and within production software.
• Generates and maintains production reports; including nightly production updates for assigned projects.
• Generally providing overall production support to the production management team.

Qualifications: 

• Bachelor’s degree in film, art, communications or related field preferred.
• 2+ years proven production experience in established VFX facility.
• Demonstrable experience in highly technical, dynamic departments is a must.
• Experience with heavy schedule management in a very time sensitive atmosphere.
• Must be diligent, resourceful, meticulous and able to thrive under pressure.
• Thorough understanding of CG/VFX production pipelines, software packages and post-production is essential.
• Outstanding organizational skills and attention to detail coupled with exceptional people skills and the ability to work within a team environment.
• Strong project management skills and a sensitivity towards deadline related deliveries.
• Must be able to handle multiple changing priorities in a dynamic environment and understand how this impacts departmental schedules. 
• Able to communicate effectively across multiple teams with excellent written and oral communication skills.
• Proficient computer skills are required; with particular emphasis on Production Tracking Software and Asset Management, Microsoft Office Applications such as Word, Excel, Office, and standard PC applications. 
• Knowledge of Nuke is very helpful
• Knowledge and understanding of stereoscopic production and 2D/3D conversion a plus.
