About this position:
As part of our Finaling Department, the Paint/Composite Artist is responsible for delivering the final shots after stereo conversion. Working with a team, including a lead artist and supervisors, the Paint/Compositing Artist is responsible for compositing and paint tasks including:
 
  • Clean plate creation, clean-up work, and set extensions in stereo
  • Complex and dynamic paint clean-up - including character, dust, dirt, wire, seam and rig removal
  • Tracking (2D & 3D) and matchmoving
  • Integrating CG elements into stereo shots
  • Color correction and grain matching
  • Performing matte extractions - including rotoscoping, keying, tracking or a combination of methods
  • Ability to work tight deadlines and hours required for production
  • Taking direction/critiques, interpreting notes and learning/applying new skills are key parts of everyday life in our studio
Requirements & Preferences:
  • Compositing experience/knowledge and reel demonstrating skill
  • A strong understanding of 3-dimensional space
  • Knowledge and Experience with software packages such as Nuke (required), Photoshop, Mocha, Silhouette and After Effects a plus
  • Excellent Artistic Ability/Aptitude
  • Previous Professional Experience in Stereoscopy is a plus
  • Accredited Post-Secondary Degree or Related Coursework ideal

Overview:
As a company focused on stereoscopic conversion, the 3D Depth Artist is at the center of it all. Working with a team, including a lead artist and supervisors, the Depth Artist must creatively interpret and apply stereo concepts. We’re looking for individuals with a good “stereo eye,” a strong understanding of 3-dimensional space (be it from previous stereo experience or from an artistic background), a working knowledge of Nuke, and a healthy dose of team spirit. Taking direction/critiques, interpreting notes and learning/applying new skills are key parts of everyday life in our studio.
 
Essential Functions:
  • Consistently work on shots assigned utilizing depth maps in Nuke to create stereo.
  • Break down a shot creatively and technically including volume, specs and animation.
  • Remain up to speed on the pipeline and the latest tools.
  • Consistently adhere to proper protocol and procedures.
  • Maintain a strong working knowledge Nuke and the pipeline of the studio.
  • Troubleshoot issues in shots.
 
Qualifications:
  • Knowledge and Experience with Nuke – Required
  • Knowledge of Practical Filmmaking Techniques – Required
  • Excellent Artistic Ability/Aptitude – Required
  • Knowledge of Stereo-related Terminology – Preferred (but we’ll teach you OUR lingo!)

Production Assistant

Overview:
 
The Production Assistant is responsible for the assignment and tracking of tasks for assigned area of responsibility. Facilitates the movement of shots between teams, coordinates daily reviews, and communicates status updates to ensure the delivery of shots are on schedule. Provides administrative support to the production management team and supervisors.
 
Responsibilities include:
 
  • Regular reporting on progress to Department Management and Production Coordinators as needed
  • Transfer assets across Stereo D facilities
  • Communicate with department teams, and answer any shot-specific questions that may arise
  • Prepare internal reviews and take notes
  • Ensure internal shot tracking database is up-to-date
  • Support coordinators and department staff with daily tracking and upkeep.
  • Spearhead artist engagement initiative
  • Maintaining visual updates for show statues
  • Relaying updates to production staff
  
Qualifications:
 
  • Bachelor’s degree in film, art, communications or related field.
  • 1+ years proven production experience in established VFX facility.
  • Demonstrable experience in highly technical, dynamic departments is a must.
  • Experience with heavy schedule management in a very time sensitive atmosphere.
  • Must be diligent, resourceful, meticulous and able to thrive under pressure.
  • Outstanding organizational skills and attention to detail coupled with exceptional people skills and the ability to work within a team environment.
  • Strong project management skills and a sensitivity towards deadline related deliveries.

Overview:
 
The Stereo Coordinator is responsible for the assignment and tracking of tasks for assigned area of responsibility. Facilitates the movement of shots between teams, coordinates daily reviews, and communicates status updates to ensure the delivery of shots on schedule. Provides administrative support to the production management team and supervisors.
 
Responsibilities include:
  • Prepare internal reviews and take notes
  • In conjunction with Stereographer and editorial, prepare external Client review timelines
  • Attend Client reviews and take notes
  • receive editorial assets from client, and internally distribute this content for your assigned project
  • Work with Stereographer or Supervisor after Client review to confirm and clarify notes, and prepare review results for publishing
  • Ensure internal shot tracking database is up-to-date
  • Maintain any client-specific database needs
  • Regular reporting on progress to Production Supervisor and Producer as needed
  • Transfer assets across Stereo D facilities to ensure reviews are properly created, and 3D conforms are up to date
  • Communicate with department teams, and answer any shot-specific questions that may arise
  • Prepare delivery packages of stereo finals to client/DI facility

About this position:

The Production Coordinator is responsible for the assignment and tracking of tasks for assigned area of responsibility. Facilitates the movement of shots between teams, coordinates daily reviews, and communicates status updates to ensure the delivery of shots on schedule. Provides administrative support to the production management team and supervisors. 

Responsibilities include:

• Under the guidance of the Production Supervisor, tracks progress of tasks for assigned artists or sequences in the production tracking system.
• Maintains production tracking system with revisions, omits, and shot length changes; notifies the affected crew as needed.
• Partners with other production personnel to ensure shots are scheduled and delivered in a timely manner.
• Follows up with Artist Leads on a daily basis to ensure task deliveries remain on schedule; communicates any schedule changes to appropriate Artist Leads, Supervisors and Production team as needed.
• Coordinates all client deliveries (outgoing and incoming), both physical deliveries and digital deliveries, with I/O Coordinator and maintains log of all deliveries.
• Responsible for multiple dailies sessions each day, as well as client reviews.
• Taking clear and accurate notes in all dailies and review sessions, and disseminating notes to all necessary parties and within production software.
• Generates and maintains production reports; including nightly production updates for assigned projects.
• Generally providing overall production support to the production management team.

Qualifications: 

• Bachelor’s degree in film, art, communications or related field preferred.
• 2-4 years proven production experience.
• Demonstrable experience in highly technical, dynamic departments is a must.
• Experience with heavy schedule management in a very time sensitive atmosphere.

As part of our Element QC Department, the Element QC Artist is responsible for receiving and reviewing all incoming assets, Nuke scripts, Compositing scene files, After Effects scripts, Maya Scenes files and various production elements/assets from the vendor. 
Working with a team, including a lead artist and supervisor, the ideal candidate will possess a good working knowledge with Nuke scripts; how to work with, and modify various Nuke scripts to conform to the production standard. We’re looking for individuals with a good “stereo eye,” a solid compositing background, a strong understanding of 3-dimensional space (be it from previous stereo experience or from an artistic background), a working knowledge of Nuke/ After Effects & Photoshop, a solid understanding of VFX, and a healthy dose of team spirit. Taking direction/critiques, interpreting notes and learning/applying new skills are key parts of everyday life in our studio.
