2D Animator

Deluxe Animation is looking for an experienced and dynamic 2d Character EFX artist.  This is an exciting opportunity to work on a fun and quirky hand drawn animated television series that has the quality of a feature film. 

Responsibilities include;
  • Follow and understand animation workbook information given by the Client
  • Read and understand exposure sheets
  • Work with EFX Animation Supervisors in creating tones and effects on all sequences
  • Flag or troubleshoot any potential problems
  • Has an artistic eye and can apply animation techniques to effects and tones that match the style of the show.
  • Address creative and technical notes given by our Supervisors and Client.
Qualifications;
  • Working knowledge of Harmony
  • Understands the principles of traditional animation
  • Must be able to meet all production deadlines while meeting the highest of standards
  • Must be able to work under pressure in a fast pace environment and turnover notes
  • Clear understanding of volume of characters and props, lighting, tones, and effects
  • Knows how to animate traditionally
Stereo D is the recognized leader in high-quality conversions of 2D theatrical content into stereoscopic 3D imagery, working with major motion picture studios, directors, cinematographers, and VFX supervisors to bring their vision of 3D storytelling to the screen.
Such success wouldn’t be possible without the tracking and coordinating of tasks, and everything in-between.  Stereo D is currently looking for a Production Coordinator who can do just that.

Main Responsibilities

• Under the guidance of the Production Supervisor, tracks progress of tasks for assigned artists or sequences in the production tracking system.
• Maintains production tracking system with revisions, omits, and shot length changes; notifies the affected crew as needed.
• Partners with other production personnel to ensure shots are scheduled and delivered in a timely manner.
• Follows up with Artist Leads on a daily basis to ensure task deliveries remain on schedule; communicates any schedule changes to appropriate Artist Leads, Supervisors and Production team as needed.
• Coordinates all client deliveries (outgoing and incoming), both physical deliveries and digital deliveries, with I/O Coordinator and maintains log of all deliveries.
• Responsible for multiple dailies sessions each day, as well as client reviews.
• Taking clear and accurate notes in all dailies and review sessions, and disseminating notes to all necessary parties and within production software.
• Generates and maintains production reports; including nightly production updates for assigned projects.
• Generally providing overall production support to the production management team.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in film, art, communications or related field preferred.
• 2-4 years proven production experience.
• Demonstrable experience in highly technical, dynamic departments is a must.
• Experience with heavy schedule management in a very time sensitive atmosphere.
• Must be diligent, resourceful, meticulous and able to thrive under pressure.
• Thorough understanding of CG/VFX production pipelines, software packages and post-production is essential.
• Outstanding organizational skills and attention to detail coupled with exceptional people skills and the ability to work within a team environment.
• Strong project management skills and a sensitivity towards deadline related deliveries.
• Must be able to handle multiple changing priorities in a dynamic environment and understand how this impacts departmental schedules. 
• Able to communicate effectively across multiple teams with excellent written and oral communication skills.
• Proficient computer skills are required; with particular emphasis on Production Tracking Software and Asset Management, Microsoft Office Applications such as Word, Excel, Office, and standard PC applications. 
• Knowledge of Nuke is very helpful
• Knowledge and understanding of stereoscopic production and 2D/3D conversion a plus

Stereo D is currently seeking a creative and ambitious Talent Acquisition Specialist to join the HR team. The main responsibility of the Talent Acquisition Specialist is to develop and implement effective strategies to showcase our culture and to attract and drive artistic talent to Deluxe and its divisions. 
 
Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement an effective talent acquisition strategy for creative as well as non-artistic positions.
  • Partner with management team to identify behavioural attributes and technical requirements of the team
  • Create intriguing career postings that highlight and showcase Stereo D culture and generate excitement on various platforms including social media.
  • Source, interview, extend offers and communicate interview outcomes to candidates.
  • Build a pipeline of candidates by attending and/or organizing networking events, job fairs and liaising with post-secondary institutions to establish relationships.
  • Recommend and action new sourcing methods while staying on top of the competitive landscape for talent
  • Manage the Talent Referral Program and make enhancements for current and future openings.
  • Assist in the global launch of the Workday ATS
Qualifications:
  • 2 years recruiting experience within a creative environment/company. Animation and VFX industry preferred.
  • Have familiarity and contacts within the creative talent pool including compositors, artists, post-secondary institutions, creative organizations and other affiliations.
  • Ability to gain credibility and establish relationships quickly with clients and potential candidates.
  • Proven self-starter and results driven.  You will take the initiative to build out your network and make improvements where a gap exists.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment with the ability to fill positions quickly
  • Experience launching networking events is an asset.

Job Summary:

The HR Administrator is pivotal to the team as the role supports all functional areas in HR.  As the first point of contact for employees’ inquiries, this role is accountable for delivering exceptional client service.  The HR Administrator is also responsible for making suggestions and process improvements to enhance employee experience and company culture.
 
Responsibilities:
  • Respond to employee inquiries with courtesy and professionalism
  • Liaise with Payroll or vendors on behalf of employees to investigate discrepancies in pay, benefits enrollment or benefit changes. 
  • Facilitate and deliver new hire orientation and onboarding program
  • Perform administrative functions such as: preparing employment verification letters, visa renewals and expense reports, managing new hire documentation, benefits enrolment and changes, and coordinating off boarding process.
  • Provide talent acquisition support such as scheduling interviews, providing follow up to candidates, pre-employment checks and event planning.
  • Support HR initiatives such as Learning & Development, compliance activities and training, program roll out, generating and distributing reports, etc
  • Maintain HRIS and electronic employee data to ensure accuracy and timeliness of employment changes

Qualifications:
